My Brompton Shopping Cart

Even I forget how compact Basil is when folded, especially when there’s a bag clipped to his luggage block.

The counter height at this shop is just above my left wrist; my right hand is on the handle at the top of the Brompton S luggage frame.  A Brompton can also be steered by flipping the handlebars up and rolling it along on the rack and Eazy Wheels, but this method is even easier, and about as unobtrusive as can be.

You’re just stalling now. Let’s hear your impressions of the Five Borough Bike Tour.

Was it transformational? Did you ever think the highway leading up to the Verrzano was that long, with the crisp air sweeping off the Hudson awakening your spirit …

Or did you oversleep? ;-)

Guilty as charged, Harry, and no search party needed, Ian! I’ve only just arrived home from New York City, and there are a few Real Life things that must be cleared up before I can write up the 5 Boro experience. I’ll put a quick note up tonight, but I’m afraid it won’t be very satisfying. Pictures still must be downloaded, and text generated!

Short version: The 5 Boro was excellent, and Basil acquitted himself beautifully!

Yes, I never would have thought that such an achievement would go unpublished for so long? Maybe it’s a NYC thing, with limited communications? Could it be an actual holiday? (do bloggers have such things?) If it weren’t for the earlier warnings about automated blogs taking over, I’d be suggesting a search party. (If one were to take a wrong turn, would anyone know?)

I agree with Ian, and you know I’m usually just not that agreeable. Also you can’t say you were not warned re:the Verrazano winds, among other things. Needless to say, but I will, I’m glad Basil showed his stuff, you walked away from it, and you and B man can lock and load on the next journey.

All right, you guys. The post took longer to write than cycling the 5 Boro; it’ll be up tomorrow, with a few others to follow later. The B-man was outstanding — love that little guy! Thanks to you and the BCP, Saul, the Verrazano was a piece of cake! (I kid you not! Close enough that it counts, anyway!)
